Sandy Lake Amusement Park
Sandy Lake Amusement Park is an outdoor entertainment center with paddle boats, miniature golf, amusement rides, and picnic areas. The park is open year-round and offers something for everyone. It is one of the top places to go in Carrollton, Texas. After a long day of amusement rides and amusement games, you can relax at the picnic grounds or paddle boat on the lake.
Sandy Lake Amusement Park opened in 1971. It originally served as a swimming spot for local children but soon grew into a family-friendly gathering spot with rides, mini golf, and food. Throughout the years, the park has played host to first kisses and daring adolescent stunts. One former employee, Antonio Chantaca, recalled the days spent at Sandy Lake with his family and friends.
Owners of Sandy Lake Amusement Park have announced that it is being sold to a landscaping company. The park has been in business for nearly five decades and hosted many events and activities, including Santa Fe Days in the Park, DubSplash, FunFest, and choir contests. While this is a sad news for the community, the owners hope the park will leave a legacy of happy memories for all who have visited.
Rosemeade Recreation Center
Rosemeade Recreation Center in Carrolltin, Texas is a recreation center with over 44,000 square feet of space for sports and fitness activities. It is located in a 28-acre park and features 2 gyms, full-size basketball and volleyball courts, a weight room, a game room, restrooms, and a classroom. In addition, the center also has an aquatic complex.
The facilities are excellent. The Carrollton Recreation Center has a nicely-maintained playground for kids, and a fully equipped gym with cardio machines and weights. You can also purchase a season pass, which is good for the entire year. In order to purchase a season pass, you must live in the city. There are two sets of locker rooms.
Farmer’s Market
The Carrollton Farmer’s Market offers local produce and artisanal goods from a variety of vendors. You’ll also find local artists and a sense of community. Located off of Josey Lane and President George Bush Turnpike in Carrollton, Trinity Valley is a convenient shopping center for families. The Carrollton Farmers Market is held every Sunday, 10am-2pm. Local vendors offer fresh produce, local artisanal goods, and handmade crafts. The mall also hosts national retailers and beauty services.

Movies Under The Stars
Drive-in movies are making a comeback! These drive-ins are becoming more accessible to everyone, and in Carrollton, Texas, there are two that are within 30 minutes of town. Before heading out to see one of these movies, make sure that the theater has current health and safety requirements.

Kinokuniya
If you’re a fan of Japanese culture and literature, Kinokuniya is the place to go. Opened in December, it offers a variety of Japanese-language books and art books. The store also sells stationery, art supplies, and collectibles.
The chain of Japanese bookstores is making a major push into the U.S., with two new locations in the Dallas area, the first opening in Carrollton in January and the second one in Plano in February. Founded in Japan, Kinokuniya currently has 30 stores in the United States, Australia, and Southeast Asia. In addition, the bookstore has stores in the United Arab Emirates.
The chain of bookstores originally started in Yotsuya, Japan. It was later moved to Shinjuku after the 1923 earthquake. It was rebuilt by Moichi Tanabe, who transformed the shop into a book store. Tanabe’s ancestor was a servant of the Kii-Tokugawa family, so he named the store after the Kii province.
